MASSCOM INTERVIEW IN UiTM

ATTENTION, MASSCOMM PROGRAMME APPLIER

Hey,
I'm back again.
I'm going to use Manglish for this post.

I was clueless last week just because I didn't know what should I share here.
And then, BAAM!💥
I got an offer to go on an interview for Mass Communication programme at UiTM.
My interview date was 28th April 2018 at UiTM Shah Alam while I got to know this offer on 24th or 25th Apr.
You can tell, I only got a few days to prepare everything.
And I really mean everything.

So first is first,
Sijil adalah sangat penting.
Get copies for every single of your sijil.
Dah buat copy, dapatkan pengesahan sijil daripada sekolah korang.
Buat pengesahan sijil ok, bukan minta pengesahan pelajar dari sekolah.
It's a different thing.
Also don't forget to do copies of your and your parents' I/C, Sijil lahir and your sijil spm.
Semua yang di'highlight' juga perlu disahkan oleh pihak sekolah.
During the day, don't forget to bring the originals one, for any kind of your documents.
Kalau ada sijil yang masih bersama cikgu-cikgu korang, jangan segan silu minta.
Setiap sijil akan dilihat oleh interviewer.

Documents Management.

Semua sijil asli letak dalam fail clear.
Means fail yang korang selalu isi sijil, yang boleh selak-selak tula.
Susun ikut urutan akademik kepada kokurikulum.
Kalau ada sijil debate, public speaking, pidato, bahas and etc, letak diorang ni kat depan.
Kira diorang ada point lebih untuk korang.

Next, sijil copy semua letak dalam fail lain.
Fail poket pun bolehla.
Sama macam sijil asal, susun by akademik to Kokurikulum.

Satu lagi fail untuk copy I/C, surat beranak dan sijil spm.
File yang ni pun guna file pocket.
Senang je kan?😏

Jangan tinggal satu pun document or barang yang dia suruh bawak.
Pasal dictionary tu, up to you guys la.
Aku bawak jer..

ON THE DAY

Appearance.

Appearance korang paling penting.
Yang lelaki, pakai kemeja and seluar slack.
Baju kemeja tak tahu nak pakai warna apa?
Back to basic la bro.
White shirt is absolutely fine.
Lengan panjang lebih baik.
Kasut biar ikut protokol, black or brown.
Tak payah nak hipster sangat pakai sneaker or kasut putih sekolah tu oops😅
Rambut tu minyak sikit.
Sekarang kan ada pomade, hah! Sapu sikit bagi kemas.
Nampak yang korang ni jaga penampilan.

For girls, I got your back.
Baju kurung, sut or apa-apa yang sopan.
Yang berhijab, kalau boleh tudung biar plain, baru nampak formal.
What kind of tudung? ANYTHING, as long as you wear it kemas and tak merimaskan kau sendiri dan orang yang melihat.
Tudung sarung tu kalau boleh elakkan, baru nampak rajin.(no offence)
Instant shawl? Maybe fine.
I don't wear any tudung sarung or instant shawl so, I had no problem here.
Kalau free hair, rambut tu ikat ponytail or bun.
As I keep saying, biar nampak kemas.
Make Up!!!
Make up tu biar yang korang confident and not to over the top.
Lipstick colour should not be too dark or too red.
Just a nice light red, pink or maybe coral colour.
Pemakaian kasut sama macam lelaki kat atas.
Jangan pakai sneakers or converse.
Pakai kasut leathers yang for women la.
Kasut sarung or bertali okay.
Jangan pakai selipar.
Jangan pakai sandals.
Higheels pun boleh la yang bertutup hadapan, jangan sampai jatuh dahlah.
Appearance, settled✔

Behaviour.

Behaviour ni senang je.
Korang mesti nervous gilerrrrr.
Easy,
Masa dalam perjalanan tu korang boleh dengar lagu yang upbeat ke, or keep on chatting with your parents to get rid of the nervous feeling.
People are unique so, cara nak hilangkan nervous pun up to someone.
Kalau rasa nak makan je bila nervous, keep on!
Kalau rasa nak nyanyi je, teruskan.
As long as it will make you feel better.

Masa dah sampai kat tempat temuduga, jangan passive sangat or aggressive sangat.
Kalau tak tahu dan tak pasti dengan keadaan sekeliling, tanya.
Kalau takde orang ajak borak, jangan jadi busybody kacau orang.
Kalau ade orang tanya, baru jawab.
Kalau tak pasti, be honest. Jangan bagi fake hope kat orang tu.
Better korang stay calm and try to hilangkan nervous korang.

INTERVIEW.

So, korang akan ada 2 test.

1st, essay.

2nd, face to face interview.

So masa pendaftaran, korang akan diberi satu piece of paper and something written on like your turn's number and your panel's number.

Keep that piece of paper with you until the end of the interview.

During the first test, you have to actually write an essay.

So korang akan diarahkan ke bilik-bilik periksa. 

Dalam satu bilik tu boleh muat 20-30 orang la.

Soalan dalam dwibahasa tapi korang kena jawab in English.

Easy. Jawapan dah ada jadi korang hafal lah siap-siap, okay?😏

Then lepas test essay tadi, korang akan dibawa to another room mengikut nombor panel korang.
Kertas essay tadi jangan tinggal kat bilik periksa tadi. Bawa sekali.
Senang cerita, ikut jer cakap diorang yang handle periksa korang tadi.
So, bilik yang korang baru masuk ni kira bilik menunggu korang la.
Dalam bilik ni korang boleh jadi penunggu or pelawat je based on your turn.
Aku dapat nombor 15 jadi berkurun jugakla.
Sesi interview tu less than 10 minutes pun, tapi kalau dah nombor belas-belas,💦you do the math ok?
Oh! Semasa tengah tunggu nombor korang dipanggil, boleh la buat research pasal isu semasa. Sekarang kan tengah nak PRU jadi, time aku interview, masing-masing gigih cari pasal PRU.
Kena pula hari aku temuduga hari penamaan calon, masing-masing check live update.

Bila sampai turn korang, try to be an active speaker.
Kalau dia tanya, jangan jawab sepatah. Gerenti kena reject.
so mine goes like this...

IVR 1 ; Hi, Aisyah. May I have your I/C first?
Me      ; *handing her my I/C*
IVR 2 ; Have a seat and please make yourself comfortable.
Me      ; *masih belum duduk and actually asked them hand shake with me* May I?👐
IVR 1 &2 ; *nasib baik dorang sambut salaman aku*
 Okay, ni tips ok? First impression is always important. Bagi salam kalau interviewer to muslims. Kalau non muslims, greet la jugak macam good morning ke, how are you ke.
Me      ; *duduk. GUYS!! Jangan duduk silang kaki. Protocol. Lelaki duduk kangkang sikit, girls
          duduk macam bersimpuh tapi duduk atas kerusi. Keep the smile on your face*
IVR 2; So, Aisyah, can you tell me what is Mass Communication?
Me     ;*Aku tak pernah hafal jawapan yang aku share link kat atas tu jadi aku buat-buat tahu la. Janji confident*
           Oh, well Mass Communication is not just sharing information from TV, radio newspaper and more but also feelings. These days it is also can be used from smart phone as there are social medias nowadays.
IVR 2 ; So, why did you apply for this programme?
Me     ; Well, I apply this programme because I want to show people the how to live in a country such Malaysia as we have various races. I actually can talk in Korean (promote okay😅) and I understand how hard they try to actually live in a country like Malaysia which is so different from their country. We don't just have three biggest races in Malaysia, we also have Arabian, Japanese and more.
IVR 2 ; So can you convince me why we should take you in?
Me      ; I actually enjoy watching TV and listening music.
IVR 1 ; K-pop music, right? Because you can talk in Korean😏
Me      ; 😳Hahahaha... I actually enjoy every kind of musics. Not just Korean. So I want to know how they work behind of those hits.
IVR 2 ; So what more did you apply for UPU?
Me      ; I also applied for tourism and hotel management programme.
IVR 2 ; So, tourism doesn't need you to go to their interview. What if, we and the tourism programme offer you our programmes to you, which one you would choose?
Me     ;*soalan ni tricky. Dia bukan tanya mana yang kau suka, dia nak tengok kau betul-betul nak join programme ni ke tak. so aku jawab macam ni.* Sure I'll choose Mass Comm. It's my first option, anyway. *meyakinkan kan?😏*
IVR 1 & 2 ; *senyum dengan undescibed smile.*
IVR 2 ; Do you know that if you did join this programme you will be placed at Rembau, Negeri Sembilan?
Me     ; *kecut weyh fikir nak tinggal rumah jauh-jauh, tapi kena yakinkan dia* NICE! I can explore new things since I'm a quite a travel fan.
IVR 2 ; So Aisyah, do you have anything to ask?
    Yang ni korang tanyalah ape-ape okay?😉
IVR 1 ; Okay, that's it for today. Thanks for coming, Aisyah!
Me      ; Most welcome *shake their hands* Have a good day, please.
  Before keluar jangan lupa pungut balik semua document korang kat interviewer. Takkan nak tinggal balik melulu je...😜


So, prepare your english very well.
UiTM ni memang bahasa pengantaraannya English.
Nak taknak korang kena guna jugak English korang.
